Wholesale Broadband Connect (WBC) is the ADSL2+ based 21C broadband product. Like IPStreamConnect, it can be used in conjunction with
the CP’sown backhaul network (i.e. it is a local access only product). This product provides higher speeds and QoSfeatures.

Via WBC ADSL 2+ or  FTTC
WBC FTTC is provided by a DSLAM located in the street rather than in the exchange.
The DSLAM is then connected to the exchange by a fibre. PSTN service continues to be offered over the copper pair.
This can offer much higher Broadband line rates to End Users using VDSL 2  technology.

BTW -WBMC(MPLS/DWDM)
WBMC takes WBC and adds BT 21C backhaul capability. It is more cost-effectiveand has greater bandwidth flexing capability than 20C backhaulWBMC Shared: Over MPLS network, for mid-sized CPsWBMC Dedicated: Bespoke built network over DWDM, for largest CPs

*Real Time yet to be launched. Development date TBC.
Fully managed end-to-end 21C product offering
Access to both 20C and 21C End Users
Commercially competitive
Wholesale Broadband Managed Connect incorporates all of WBC.s features but also includes BT.s own 21C backhaul capacity, making it an end-to-end solution (i.e. local access and backhaul)

BTW -WBMC
(MPLS/DWDM)
Host Link
During transition to 21C, CPsbuying WBMC connect will have a periodwhere they are running parallel networks and incurring the costs associated
WBMC Consuming IPstream Connect is where both 20C & 21C
traffic is routed across the same WBMC backhaul.
Central
BTW -Colossus
The legacy 20C Central backhaul can be retired once the conversion
to WBMC has been completed.
WBMC Consuming IPStreamConnect is where both the WBC and IPStreamConnect local access traffic are carried over the same single 21C backhaul. For a period of time (as illustrated) there are two backhaul networks until the transition is completed.

Portfolio Summary
.WBC is BTW’s 21CN broadband service that offers ADSL2+ capability with enhanced QoS features
.IPSC is a new 20CN product that supports CPs in the transition to 21CN by allowing CPs to take advantage of 21CN backhaul whilst continuing to support their EUs on 20CN
.WBMC is a managed ‘end-to-end’ solution that will aggregate both 21CN (WBC) and 20CN (IPSC) EU products.
.CPs can choose to buy WBC and/or IPSC directly or consume these products through WBMC
.WBC/WBMC will consume future broadband access tails e.g. FTTC and FTTP
.Wholesale Content Connect (WCC) is an additional feature that will be available via WBC and IPSC that will reduce the cost of delivering videos by hosting them closer to the EU, inside the BTW network.

ADSL2+
Benefit
Upstream problems managed through Downstream DLM changes
Separate Upstream and Downstream  DLM changes
No loss in downstream speeds for upstream problems
7 .8 day Convergence times (Stabilising)
Expected to be within 5 days
.Service stable earlier
.Improved end user experience
Only one depth of interleaving available before have to use noise margin to stabilise lines
Two interleaving depths and other parameters for upstream and downstream before noise margin used
.Improved opportunity to maintain line rates
.Improved end user experience
Single interleaving level
“Low” 2 to 4 times better noise protection than ADSL1“High” up to 8 times better
.Improved stability
.Improved end user experience
.Improve ELF & In-Life fault rates

Dynamic Line Management
ADSL1
ADSL2+
Benefit
HOT TIP!Maximise the benefits of ADSL2+ DLM -select the AUTO Interleaving Option
Single/short duration synch periods unrecognised
Total of 900 seconds uptime in any 24 hour period
Allows little usage to register as a ADSL2+ user
Inability to distinguish user initiated synchs
Differentiates between user forced and line condition initiated synch events
.Prevents false synch event counting towards “flapper” behaviour
Interleaving cannot be removed by DLM when noise improves
Where “Auto” is selected & interleaving is applied, can be auto-removed if noise improves
.Improved product perception
.Improved end user experience
