SK Telecom의 MEC와 거의 같은 상품 분류이다. Verizon의 Public MEC, Private MEC는 SK Telecom의 Public Edge (B2C Edge), On-Site Edge (B2B Edge)에 해당한다. 두 이통사 모두 AWS Wavelength와 AWS Outpost를 이용한다.

Marks the first commercial implementation of Verizon Business’ On Site 5G private network solution in the U.S.

Verizon Business and BlackRock announced today that BlackRock’s new global headquarters at 50 Hudson Yards in New York will feature a private 5G network from Verizon.

The deal brings secure 5G Ultra Wideband connectivity to areas of BlackRock’s brand new Hudson Yards facility where high speed and low latency are put to optimal use, such as its trading floor, client-facing conference center, cutting edge auditorium, and meeting rooms.

The On Site 5G deployment can replace office WiFi and allows BlackRock to take advantage of workplace-of-the-future tools and applications including virtual enhanced training, AR/VR, enhanced security management and monitoring, real-time edge computing and emerging data-centric technologies that require high bandwidth and low latency.

Verizon debuts private mobile edge cloud computing for enterprises with Microsoft Azure

• Through its relationship with Microsoft, Verizon is now offering businesses an on-premises, private edge compute solution that enables the ultra-low latency needed to deploy real-time enterprise applications.
• Solution leverages Verizon 5G Edge with Microsoft Azure Stack Edge to bring compute and storage services to the edge of the network at the customer premises, providing increased efficiencies, higher levels of security, and the low lag and high bandwidth needed for applications involving computer vision, augmented and virtual reality, and machine learning. 
• Ice Mobility has used Verizon 5G Edge with Microsoft Azure to help with computer vision-assisted product packing to improve on-site quality assurance. The company is now exploring additional 5G Edge applications that provide tangible, material automation enhancements to its business, such as near real-time activity-based costing.

Verizon has recently completed lab trials with Corning and begun lab trials with Samsung on new 5G mmWave in-building solutions which, when commercially launched, will provide 5G mmWave coverage inside facilities such as hospitals, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, schools, ports, retail stores and more.

The launch of these indoor cell sites will not only extend the footprint of Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network, but will also bring the promise of private networks with Mobile Edge Compute (MEC) capabilities one step closer.
