Note: The Dollar amounts shown for the years ended December 31, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012 were translated at the rate of KRW 1,203.7 to US$1.00, KRW1,169.3 to US$1.00, KRW 1,090.9 to US$1.00, KRW 1,055.3 to US$1.00 and KRW 1,063.2 to US$1.00, respectively.

The basic charge revenue of IPTV has constantly been growing since its launch in 2009, outpacing satellite TV in 2011, and then cable TV in 2014. As of the end of 2016, as much as 55.1% of the total basic channel subscription revenue in pay TV is generated from IPTV. The basic channel charge revenue of cable and satellite TV, however, has been on a steady decline as seen in Figure above.

As seen in Figure above, unlike IPTV providers (KT, SK Broadband and LG U+) who are all experiencing growth in basic channel subscription revenue, all of cable TV providers are now challenged with declining revenue.
