Chairman Hwang Chang Kyu of KT put out telecommunication-edition of ‘Hwang’s Law’ and declared that it will lead South Korea’s 4th industry revolution with ‘intelligent giga-infra’ and ‘ICT convergence’ as revolution’s key words. KT will invest $10.9 billion (13 trillion KRW) until 2020.

LG U+ announced on the 16th that it, jointly with Nokia, a global network equipment vendor, conducted a demonstration of deploying 'commercial' base station software over universal IT servers by means of vRAN. The companies also modified the architecture of C-RAN so that key features previously performed in DU can be performed in RRH instead, proving themselves ready for 5G era where ultra-high speed transmission services are required.
